Using Pore-Cor to Model Mercury Porosimetry, Absolute Permeability and Formation Damage

ثبت نشده
چکیده

Pore-Cor can be used to obtain enhanced information from the mercury intrusion porosimetry of oil-reservoir sandstone core plugs. Although the geometry of the PoreCor network is simplistic, it is nevertheless flexible enough to closely simulate the percolations properties of actual sandstone samples. Also, crucially, it makes an allowance for the shielding of large pores by small throats, which is not allowed for in the implicit straight capillaric approximations commonly used.

Hydration and Nacetyllcysteine Alter the Microstructure of Human Nail and Bovine Hoof: Implications for Drug Delivery

This work aimed to (a) characterize the microstructure and porosity of human nail and bovine hoof by mercury intrusion porosimetry and SEM image analysis, (b) study the effects of hydration and of N-acetyl-l-cysteine treatment on the microstructure of both membranes, and (c) determine whether the microstructural modifications were associated with changes in drug penetration measured by standard...

Investigation and Computer Modellin . G of the Pore Structure of Paper and of Consolidated Pigment Coatings

The aim of this project was to enhance the current state of knowledge of the void structure of paper, and pigments used to coat paper. The porosities and pore size distributions of consolidated pigments were measured using mercury porosimetry. Prior to this work, mercury porosimetry was rarely used in this field due to problems associated with the conventional interpretation of mercury porosime...

Characterization of the pore structure of reservoir rocks with the aid of serial sectioning analysis, mercury porosimetry and network simulation

Processes of ̄uid transport through underground reservoirs are closely related with microscopic properties of the pore structure. In the present work, a relatively simple method is developed for the determination of the topological and geometrical parameters of the pore space of sedimentary rocks, in terms of chamber-and-throat networks. Several parameters, such as the chamber-diameter distribu...

Estimating permeability using median pore-throat radius obtained from mercury intrusion porosimetry

Mercury intrusion porosimetry (MIP) has been widely used to characterize the pore structure for various types of porous media. Several relationships between permeability and pore structure information (e.g., porosity and pore-size distribution) have been developed in the literature. This work is to introduce a new, and simpler, empirical equation to predict permeability by solely using the medi...
